So whats up lately... I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving (or Nov 24th if you choose not to celebrate Thanksgiving). I have been quite the busy beaver lately...

Last week I went home to Columbus for 2 days to take part in my dad's wedding. He and Julie looked so happy together. I really like Julie and I am very happy for my dad. Ciara and Collin will probably be next, followed by Mom and Ashley. Seems like everyone in my family is getting married and remarried, except for me. Don't think that will happen until we vote a few assplugs out of office. Can I get an amen from my GLBT family out there?

After being home for one day, work shipped me off to fabulous Sierra Vista, AZ. It's a cuteish little town, nestled snug up against the Huachuca mountains, and fairly close to Mexico. We were opening a new store down there, and they needed my expertise. I got put up in a nice hotel and wined and dined for two days. It was a really cool experience, but was nice being home.

Then after being home three days, Luke and I made our annual trek to the Grand Canyon. It was nice and warm, and really pretty out. I took some awesome pictures which I will post, er, now. I purchased a WONDERFUL XM-RADIO for my car before the trip and absolutely LOVE IT!! I even got Luke to recognize the benefits, as we were able to listen to an entire live-from-London Madonna show in BMP out in East Bumfuck, Arizona.

Now I'm back, back in business. I am also recovering from pneumonia, caused by this fucking cold which has been going on for weeks and weeks, dropping green slime ala "You Can't Do That On Television" down the back of my throat. All is good though, haven't missed a day of work yet. I am off tomorrow - no travelling, no weddings, just me, a couch and probably a day full of watching cheesy Christmas movies and keeping warm under a blanket. Oh, the tough life it is...

Ok. If you have a TiVo, or are still stuck in rerun land... you need to see the latest episode of Trading Spouses on FOX. Granted, I don't usually watch much FOX original programming, when I saw the ad for this show I had to set my TiVo to record it. See that clip that has me rolling on the floor laughing here.

In other news, I will be making a brief trip home to Ohio next week for my dad's wedding. I am trying to take a little time out to see a few friends, but can't see everyone I would like to. I will be staying with my mom in Galloway. It's kinda exciting that my dad is getting married. My new stepmom, Julie, is totally sweet and I am glad that her and my dad are together. I will also now have two new stepbrothers. It's cool because I like how my family is growing :)

The week after next, Luke and I will be making our annual pilgrimage up to the Grand Canyon. That should be cool, and I should have some neat pictures to share upon our return.

I hope everyone is doing well :)

The Nancy Grace Pumpkin Project

Today, we have one mission. To turn this:

Into this...

We are buying two pumpkins, just in case we mess one up. I designed the template, from the photo above. (I didn't know I had a shred of artistic ability, this proves I have just one shred). I will take photos and post some at the end if everything works out.

It's That Time Again

Autumn is upon us once again, and in Tucson that means only running the AC/cooler during the day. It's also the time of year that Luke and I begin to discuss our huge vacation we will take next year (since we just paid off Europe last month). So far we have discussed going to:

Puerto Rico
Havana
Some other misc. Caribbean
South America (I really wanna go see Rio de Janeiro)
Toronto/Montreal

I'm easy to please. As long as it gets me away from work for a week, I would be happy going to Sasabe for the week. I guess that doesn't mean much if you aren't from SE Arizona, but it means something to me and at 8 in the morning with no coffee that's the best I can do gawddammit!

AZ State Quarter Design

Ok, so I know this isn't the real state quarter design contest. However, the Arizona Daily Star is accepting reader submissions for what they think the Arizona state quarter, to be released in 2008 as the 48th quarter, should look like. I took some time this morning, when there was nothing else really to do, to come up with some ideas of my own. I am going to submit one to the newspaper in a few days, just wanted to see if anyone had any comments.

This is the most basic design, and the basis for all three. The background is a relief of the Grand Canyon (the photo of which was taken by yours truly), and the foreground contains a basic outline of the state of Arizona.

Same as above, but with a saguaro cactus (using the two most visible "Arizona icons")

This one is based off of the first one, but contains a diamondback rattlesnake in it.

This is my fave, it has the Arizona State flag inside the outline of the state.
