So whats up lately... I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving (or Nov 24th if you choose not to celebrate Thanksgiving). I have been quite the busy beaver lately...
Last week I went home to Columbus for 2 days to take part in my dad's wedding. He and Julie looked so happy together. I really like Julie and I am very happy for my dad. Ciara and Collin will probably be next, followed by Mom and Ashley. Seems like everyone in my family is getting married and remarried, except for me. Don't think that will happen until we vote a few assplugs out of office. Can I get an amen from my GLBT family out there?
After being home for one day, work shipped me off to fabulous Sierra Vista, AZ. It's a cuteish little town, nestled snug up against the Huachuca mountains, and fairly close to Mexico. We were opening a new store down there, and they needed my expertise. I got put up in a nice hotel and wined and dined for two days. It was a really cool experience, but was nice being home.
Then after being home three days, Luke and I made our annual trek to the Grand Canyon. It was nice and warm, and really pretty out. I took some awesome pictures which I will post, er, now. I purchased a WONDERFUL XM-RADIO for my car before the trip and absolutely LOVE IT!! I even got Luke to recognize the benefits, as we were able to listen to an entire live-from-London Madonna show in BMP out in East Bumfuck, Arizona.
Now I'm back, back in business. I am also recovering from pneumonia, caused by this fucking cold which has been going on for weeks and weeks, dropping green slime ala "You Can't Do That On Television" down the back of my throat. All is good though, haven't missed a day of work yet. I am off tomorrow - no travelling, no weddings, just me, a couch and probably a day full of watching cheesy Christmas movies and keeping warm under a blanket. Oh, the tough life it is...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
This is where I was for the last two days - so beautiful. It's nice to be able to spend time in such a peaceful place, away from helicopters and police sirens and WORK. If you haven't ever been to the Grand Canyon, I suggest you make it a point to visit. It is breathtaking.
*Hunting camels is prohibited. (The US Army once experimented with camels in the Arizona desert, and eventually gave up. The remaining camels were set free, and are now protected.)
*Any misdemeanor committed while wearing a red mask is considered a felony.
*There is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down a cactus. (The Saguaro cactus, treasured by Arizonians, has been endangered by those who find pleasure in shooting or cutting down cacti. Thus, a law was passed to protect the cactus.)
*Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.
*A class 2 misdemeanor occurs if one places a mark upon a flag which is "likely to provoke physical retaliation".
*It is illegal to produce imitation cocaine.
*When being attacked by a criminal or burglar, you may only protect yourself with the same weapon that the other person posseses.
*It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water. (In the summer-time, with temperatures reaching topping 120 degrees, often people will need water, but may not have the money to pay for it (mainly applies to homeless). Hence, the law. It is very much in effect today, with businesses being reported (and heavily fined) who refuse to supply water to those who ask for it. Convenience stores are the primary businesses who uphold this law.)

*Cards may not be played in the street with a Native American.

*If you bother bullfrogs or cottontails, you will be fined.
Maricopa County:
*No more than six females may live in any house. (The zoning ordinance was intended to crack down on the proliferation of brothels. However, lawmakers did not forsee cultural changes such as groups of girls living together in a sorority house.)
Mesa:
*It is illegal to smoke cigarettes within 15 feet of a public place unless you have a Class 12 liqueur license. There may be a similar law to this in Tucson...
Mojave County:
*A decree declares that anyone caught stealing soap must wash himself with it until it is all used up.
Nogales:
*An ordinance prohibits the wearing of suspenders.
Prescott:
*No one is permitted to ride their horse up the stairs of the county court house.
Tempe:
*One must be 18 years old to buy spray paint. This is STATE law in Ohio if I am not mistaken and I believe that it includes all markers of any kind
Tombstone:
*It is illegal for men and women over the age of 18 to have less than one missing tooth visible when smiling. I have been to Tombstone and they could RAKE in the fines if they wanted to start enforcing this one...

Ok. If you have a TiVo, or are still stuck in rerun land... you need to see the latest episode of Trading Spouses on FOX. Granted, I don't usually watch much FOX original programming, when I saw the ad for this show I had to set my TiVo to record it. See that clip that has me rolling on the floor laughing here.
In other news, I will be making a brief trip home to Ohio next week for my dad's wedding. I am trying to take a little time out to see a few friends, but can't see everyone I would like to. I will be staying with my mom in Galloway. It's kinda exciting that my dad is getting married. My new stepmom, Julie, is totally sweet and I am glad that her and my dad are together. I will also now have two new stepbrothers. It's cool because I like how my family is growing :)
The week after next, Luke and I will be making our annual pilgrimage up to the Grand Canyon. That should be cool, and I should have some neat pictures to share upon our return.
I hope everyone is doing well :)

Today, we have one mission. To turn this:

Into this...

We are buying two pumpkins, just in case we mess one up. I designed the template, from the photo above. (I didn't know I had a shred of artistic ability, this proves I have just one shred). I will take photos and post some at the end if everything works out.

Autumn is upon us once again, and in Tucson that means only running the AC/cooler during the day. It's also the time of year that Luke and I begin to discuss our huge vacation we will take next year (since we just paid off Europe last month). So far we have discussed going to:
Puerto Rico
Havana
Some other misc. Caribbean
South America (I really wanna go see Rio de Janeiro)
Toronto/Montreal
I'm easy to please. As long as it gets me away from work for a week, I would be happy going to Sasabe for the week. I guess that doesn't mean much if you aren't from SE Arizona, but it means something to me and at 8 in the morning with no coffee that's the best I can do gawddammit!

I bought a new toy yesterday... I have always wanted a GPS. Now that I have one, I want to get the mapping software but it costs almost as much as the unit itself. I need to find someone who has a Garmin GPS who wouldn't mind copying the CDs for me hahaha. So anyway, I am learning how to use it, and have already found out some cool stuff about where I live...
My house is at 2330 feet above sea level. It's located at N 32° 15.793', W 110° 56.804'. All the things I didn't know yesterday.

I've had my glass of wine now the day can continue...
So, yesterday Luke and I saw two different movies. First, we went and saw Flightplan. This type of movie always interests me, but definately was not what I expected. Jodie Foster was, of course, fabulous as always in her role as Kyle Pratt, a propulsion engineer living in Berlin. She and her daughter are flying home the body of her late husband, and the plane happens to be one that she just finished working on. It's a great movie, I really enjoyed it. I won't give away any of the details though. Sean Bean is also in it, and I think he's a great actor as well.
The second movie we saw was Corpse Bride. Again, another beautiful movie by Tim Burton. It's amazing when you think back to Nightmare Before Christmas, and see how much more detailed the character movement was in this movie. It was really cute. I definately suggest everyone get off their computers RIGHT NOW and watch these two movies!!

Rednecks will eat anything if you deep fry it and set them down in front of NASCAR.
In other news, yesterday was mine and Luke's three year anniversary. Yes, it has been that long. Seems like yesterday when I first met him. I love him incredibly, and I hope he knows that. We went to Sakura for teppan chicken (me) and sushi (Luke) and fine asian drinks (both of us). :)

Sue Johansen on Vacation!!!

I bet the thing you wouldn't want to say to the jurors is:
"There's things I choose to do, like, if I go in a store and choose to take a Snicker's bar," Reed testified. "If you catch me, you catch me. If not, I'm going to go home and eat it up and go on about my business, dog."
This wouldn't be so bad if he also didn't tell jurors that he didn't care if they put him away for life. So they did. The 31 year old received 99 years in prison. Hahaha. fucker.
